Katz-i previously designed three Annual Reports for The British Council, all following the same primary grid and size. A change of Director introduced a new design and layout.
Working closely with the new Director, Ben Harris, the Katz-i team developed a series of concepts to reflect a new style for the British Council. One was selected for further development.
The selected concept (timeline) reflects a page-by-page journey through the year's events. The inside covers folds inward, featuring an event detailed in text and photography.
The front cover image (photographed by award-winning photographer, Rudolf Portillo), was taken at the annual Education Exhibition. The subtle hues of the photography set the stage for the interior of the report. Incorporated within each page are visual elements to guide the reader through the piece. Finishing off the design is matte laminating with a delicious purple foilstamp.
Client's comments: ... Katz-i International Web & Graphic Design is always a pleasure to work with, and takes a lot of the pressure of deciding how to go about launching a publicity campaign - whether for an education exhibition or a concert or anything else the British Council was working on - off me: for which I am eternally grateful. Their designs are always eye-catching and colourful.
